This argumentative-critical research thesis offers a wide overview of the social-educational psychomotricity practice, which has developed in sixty years of research in the medical, psychological, pedagogical and educational fields. In the first section, this paper presents a historical-critical excursus of the theoretical references that laid the foundations of psychomotricity development. In the second section, this research work analyses the Mauro Vecchiato Relational Psychomotricity by describing the session characteristics and methodologies. Lastly, thanks to some interviews directed to experienced psychomotor therapists and teachers, this work underlines how the psychomotricity is now widely present in kindergarten in Italy. This practice, by enriching the formative offer of the school, favours, thanks to symbolic game, a child harmonious and holistic development in his relationship between mind and body, bringing out the deep needs that follow him from the first days of his life in his relationship with parents, peers, objects and world.
