This thesis is focused on the reintroduction of the Barbary Macaque in the wild giving also attention at how animals should be managed in captivity to facilitate their survival in the wild. The reintroduction is explained following the guidelines given by IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) in 2013. When an animal is going to be reintroduced in the wild, it should be capable of performing all range of behaviours that should occur in nature and, in particular for social species like the Barbary Macaque, it should also be able to communicate correctly with the conspecifics. In this paper it is offered an overview of all possible methods and problems that could arise when managing and reintroducing this species.
