Cryptography is the science that deals with making messages and information of various kinds incomprehensible to unauthorized persons. The cryptographic techniques used today, however, are the result of an incredibly long and fascinating development history. Starting from simple methods and tricks, cryptography has slowly but surely evolved to the advanced and sophisticated methods used today.
La crittografia è la scienza che si occupa di rendere incomprensibili, a persone non autorizzate, messaggi e informazioni di vario tipo. Le tecniche crittografiche usate oggi, tuttavia, sono il risultato di una storia di sviluppo incredibilmente lunga e affascinante. Partendo da semplici metodi e artifici, la crittografia si è evoluta lentamente ma inesorabilmente ai metodi avanzati e sofisticati usati tuttora.
