L'abuso di sostanze: quali programmi di trattamento in Italia?

This paper concern substance abuse. In the first part, it demonstrate how in the Western society the way to look at drug addicts has evolved, over time, retracing part of drug’s history to help understand how substances change (for example, with the introduction of synthetic drugs) and their purpose, by changing the prototype of a drug addict the Services working with (with addiction and needs that are differend depending on the substance used). It is highlighted that some illegal substances are still socially acceptable in certain contexts, while others are strongly condemned by the society. In the second part of this paper, the main treatment programs are described, up to the most innovative programs, used against drug addiction, for example, in Ser.D. or in the Therapeutic Community.

Questo elaborato tratta dell'abuso di sostanze. Nella prima parte, si vuole dimostrare come nella società occidentale si sia evoluto, nel corso del tempo, il modo di guardare le persone tossicodipendenti ripercorrendo un tratto della storia delle droghe per aiutare a capire come cambiano le sostanze (ad esempio, con l'introduzione delle droghe sintetiche) e la loro finalità, modificando di conseguenza il prototipo di persona tossicodipendente con cui i servizi si trovano a lavorare (con una dipendenza e delle necessità differenti a seconda della sostanza usata). Si vuole anche mettere in evidenza il fatto che tutt'ora vi siano delle sostanze illegali socialmente accettate in determinati contesti, mentre altre sono tutt'ora fortemente stigmatizzate dalla società. Nella seconda parte, invece, vengono descritti i principali programmi di trattamento, citandone anche alcuni innovativi, utilizzati nella cura della tossicodipendenza, ad esempio, nei Ser.D o nelle Comunità Terapeutiche.
