Today a tool that, beyond technology, permeates all the work of the hearing care professional and counseling. As a whole, the rehabilitation process of a hearing impaired patient is extremely complex and difficult to treat in view of how he experiences psycho-social discomfort, the drama of his frustrations and the limited or total inability to relate to others. In general, the hearing impaired subject tends to assume an attitude of closure and distrust with the world around him, inevitably creating a condition of insecurity. This situation gives rise to the need in the patient to establish, with a specialist, an empathic relationship, who is aware and can face his problem to help him solve it. How can I enhance and improve my Counseling, carried out during my company internship, when I become a Hearing Care Technician? It is precisely from this question that I decided to start an investigation through the administration, after the first meeting, of an anonymous questionnaire that allowed me to see where to intervene to improve my Counseling as much as possible. From what emerges from the graphs, it is clear that there is still room for improvement in my counseling activity. Counseling, in my opinion, plays a role of primary importance in the path of acoustic prosthesis of a patient, because each person is a complex of emotional states, expectations and feelings that must be understood and valued with appropriate interventions and choices. The good action of a hearing care professional is in fact closely linked to this ambivalent connotation of technician and counselor: he understands to act. Acting ethically and competently means giving oneself and others great satisfaction.
Agire in maniera etica e competente significa regalare a sé stessi e agli altri grandi soddisfazioni.
