The emancipation of women in Sub-Saharan Africa, has grown over the last decade, but major challenges still exist for their progress in dimensions based on different situation and cultural contexts. The introduction of gender quotas, an effort to address West Africa’s gender inequality in political development. In this thesis I measure the Emancipation of women in Sub-Saharan Africa, to clarify the debate on between women and Governments, who is to be held responsible. Applied women citizen’s point of view to examine the effects of the law on Parity in Sub-Saharan Africa. I used a mixed method of discourse analysis, with West African women citizen and survey analysis of The World Economic Forum data from 2018 to 2022.
