La variabilità fonologica nel bambino prescolare e l'apprendimento di parole

The research aims to study the phonological variability in children between the ages of 3 and 6, and the correlation with working memory and the learning of new words. A test has been developed, proposed to children aged between 3 and 6 years with typical development, which includes: a phonological consistency test based on the Assessment Incosistency of the "DEAP" (Diagnostic Evaluation of Articulation and Phonology) test created by Dr. Barbara Dodd, two tests that evaluate phonological working memory through non-word repetition and direct numerical span, and finally a test that investigates the learning of new words. This last test consists in the request to name the name of five characters, after exposure to a story through a video. Slow mapping activity is expected to be better in typically developing children.

La ricerca ha lo scopo di studiare la variabilità fonologica in bambini di età compresa tra i 3 e i 6 anni, e la correlazione con la memoria di lavoro e l’apprendimento di nuove parole. È stato sviluppato un test, proposto a bambini con un’età compresa tra i 3 e i 6 anni con sviluppo tipico, che comprende: una prova di consistenza fonologica basata sull’Assessment Incosistency della prova “DEAP” (Diagnostic Evaluation of Articulation and Phonology) creata dalla dott.essa Barbara Dodd, due prove che valutano la memoria di lavoro fonologica attraverso la ripetizione di non parole e lo span numerico diretto, ed infine una prova che indaga l’apprendimento di nuove parole. Quest’ultima prova consiste nella richiesta di denominare il nome di cinque personaggi, dopo l’esposizione ad una storia attraverso un video. Ci si aspetta che l’attività di mappatura lenta risulti migliore nei bambini con sviluppo tipico.
