The overarching aim of this study is to explore the sexual fantasies (involving both children and adults), the cognitive distortions about children, and the levels of emotional congruence with children (ECWC) in people with and without an interest in children. Firstly, the study will examine the interrelationship between sexual fantasies involving children and adults, emotional congruence with children, and child sexual abuse supportive beliefs in both participants with a paedophilic interest and participants without a paedophilic interest. Secondly, the study will also compare paedophilic and non-paedophilic participants on their levels of sexual fantasising, cognitive distortions, and ECWC.
