The thesis focuses on a research about the political-institutional lexicon in the first six chapters of the two main Greek translations of the Book of Daniel (Theodozion and the Septuagint), in order to demonstrate the high level of Hellenization of the Jewish sphere of society, in which the translators acted. The basis of the work is going to be the prophetic text of the Bible of the Septuagint (in the Ziegler-Munnich’s critical edition), I’m therefore proceeding to an historical contextualization of the institutional terms, oftentimes in systematic comparisons with the corresponding word of Theodozion and occasionally paying attention to the Hebrew language of the Masoretic Text. The method is going to be comparative and the research is going to allow an insight into the history of words and into the administrative system of the Hellenistic kingdoms.
