In my dissertation I will analyse the European migration process to the USA from 1820 to the first world war. Migrations are strongly related to human’s history, humans have migrated since prehistoric era but between the nineteen and the twenty century the flow of people drastically increased. On my thesis, after giving a general overview of the patterns used to classify migrations, I will analyse the historic causes of this huge phenomenon and the consequences that the flow had on the USA and some of the policies that this state adopted to limit it. Since European states had different migration processes in chapter number 3 I will focus on the Russian situation investigating the historic processes that led to the emigration of a huge number of people and in particular to Jewish emigration to the USA. In detail I will explore religious and political reasons that lead to this stream of people.

Abstract
In detail I will explore religious and political reasons that lead to this stream of people.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
