Szlachta polacca e dvorjanstvo russo tra utopia aristocratica e rivolta contro il despotismo.

In his article De L’Utopie aristocratique au Messianisme Polonais et Russe, published seventy years ago, Riccardo Picchio discusses an interesting matter (that this thesis will explore in more detail): how both in Poland and in Russia the noble class (the Polish szlachta and Russian dvorjanstvo), which is conservative by definition, represented at the same time the one and only force of progress of these nations. Poland and Russia have a different history, and this determined the fact that the two aristocratic classes at the time had different aspirations. Nevertheless, the basis needed to realize them was the same for both countries: the opposition to the despot’s absolute power. In my thesis I will try to analyze the literary work of two young authors from that time, the Polish Adam Mickiewicz, and the Russian Wilhelm Kjuchel’beker, with the aim to outline what was the position of two of the most prominent intellectuals of the time.

L’articolo di Riccardo Picchio De L’Utopie aristocratique au Messianisme Polonais et Russe pubblicato ormai settant’anni fa pone una questione molto interessante che questa tesi intende esplorare più approfonditamente, ossia come sia in Polonia che in Russia la classe nobiliare (la szlachta polacca e il dvorjanstvo russo) abbia giocato il ruolo di forza di progresso, pur essendo essa stessa la classe conservatrice per antonomasia. Sebbene i due paesi avessero delle storie molto diverse tra loro, e le rispettive classi aristocratiche, conseguentemente, avessero diverse aspirazioni, la base necessaria alla loro realizzazione era la stessa: un’opposizione al potere assoluto del despota. In questa tesi proverò a delineare, come esempio, quella che fu la reazione, e posizione, nell’opera letteraria di due giovani autori dell’epoca: Adam Mickiewicz (per la parte polacca) e Wilhelm Kjuchel’beker (per quella russa), analizzandone somiglianze e differenze.
