This thesis work analyzes the picaresque genre, with special reference to the comparison of two novels, "El Lazarillo de Tormes" and "La familia de Pascual Duarte". The first part discusses the origin of the picaresque novel, the term "picaresque," common characteristics and some major novels of this literary genre. In the second part, after a brief presentation of the two novels, a comparison of them is made, tracing the typical characteristics of picaresque novels described above, the family situation and the process of the formation of the main characters.
Questo lavoro analizza il genere picaresco, con particolare riferimento al confronto tra due romanzi: "El Lazarillo de Tormes" e "La familia de Pascual Duarte". Nella prima parte viene trattata l’origine del romanzo picaresco, del termine “picaro”, le caratteristiche comuni e alcuni principali romanzi di questo genere letterario. Nella seconda parte, dopo una breve presentazione dei due romanzi, ne viene effettuato un confronto, ripercorrendo le caratteristiche tipiche dei romanzi picareschi descritte in precedenza, la situazione familiare e il processo di formazione dei protagonisti.
