This thesis aims to examine, both in terms of quantity and diachronically, the evolution of the wetlands in the low Verona plain, describing the development of the area from a historical perspective. In particular, the scope is to investigate the transformation of the agricultural crops and the accessibility of their production in terms of feeding capacity. Moreover, this work aims to describe the opium factories of the area and their importance in the social fabric of the time.
La tesi vuole esaminare in termini quantitativi e diacronici l'evoluzione delle aree umide nel basso veronese, descrivendo dal punto di vista storico l'evoluzione dell'area oggetto del lavoro. In relazione a questa parte si vuole esaminare la trasformazione delle coltivazioni agricole e la fruibilità delle produzioni in termini alimentari; gli opifici sorti nella zona e la loro importanza nel tessuto sociale dell'epoca.
