The origins of this new artistic language date back to the 70s, when in the suburbs of New York the kids began, for fun, to invade the city with their tags. The pioneers of this artistic phenomenon were Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Banksy. At the beginning of the 1980s, the phenomenon also arrived in Europe and then spread throughout most of Italy (in cities such as Milan, Bologna and Padua). In particular, two events were important on the Padua front: the "Urbanize-me Exhibition" which took place in 2011 and the Super Walls Street Art Biennale festival, with the two editions 2019/2021, both curated by Carlo Silvestrin; and thanks to these events there was the redevelopment and urban rebirth of the city of Padua.
