Today the challenge of sustainability has become the focus of attention for many companies. Through this paper we will try to understand how companies study and implement their innovation strategy with an approach oriented towards sustainable development. What does sustainability consist of? What are the processes to achieve it? And what are its costs and benefits again? These are some of the questions addressed in the thesis. To reap the greatest possible benefits, a company must also be able to communicate, both internally and externally, its commitment to achieving the objectives, but above all the results, consequently importance will be given to the drafting of the sustainability reports required by the Commission. European. Space will be given to the analysis of the current link between innovation and sustainability and how the concept of eco-efficiency can lead to advantages both in terms of performance and reputation of the organization. Ultimately, a local SME will be taken to study its environmental impact and, through an interview with the company itself, we will try to understand with what method and solution it is addressing the issue of sustainable innovation.
Al giorno d'oggi la sfida della sostenibilità è diventata centro dell'attenzione per moltissime imprese. Attraverso questo elaborato si cercherà di capire come le aziende studiano e implementano la loro strategia per l'innovazione con un approccio orientato allo sviluppo sostenibile. In cosa consiste la sostenibilità? Quali sono i processi per raggiungerla? E ancora quali sono i suoi costi e benefici? Sono queste alcune delle domande affrontate nella tesi. Per trarre i maggiori benefici possibili, un’impresa deve essere in grado anche di comunicare, sia internamente che esternamente, il suo impegno nel raggiungere gli obiettivi, ma soprattutto i risultati, di conseguenza verrà data importanza alla stesura dei report di sostenibilità richiesti dalla Commissione Europea. Verrà dato spazio all'analisi dell'attuale legame tra l'innovazione e la sostenibilità e su come il concetto di eco-efficienza possa portare ad avere vantaggi sia in termini di performance e sia di reputazione dell'organizzazione. In ultima battuta, si prenderà in caso un PMI del territorio per studiarne l'impatto ambientale e, attraverso un'intervista all'azienda stessa, si cercherà di capire con quale metodo e soluzione stia affrontando la tematica dell'innovazione sostenibile.
