The thesis aims to analyze and develop research on the themes and forms of two films, which, in fact, Hong Kong Express and Fallen Angels, both the result of the directorial work of Wong Kar-wai, a very important figure in film field. The work aims to develop about the analysis of a particular theme: the impossibility of human relationships, loneliness and incommunicability, which masterfully takes shape in these sister works, diametrically opposed in many of their characteristics, both expressions of a metropolis, such as Hong Kong and its characteristic tireless dynamism where love cannot help but expire. An analysis therefore that is constituted within this paradoxal relationship, starting from a consideration about a very important authorial figure and then dwelling precisely on this philosophical dichotomy.
