Flavescence dorée (FD) is one of the most important diseases of grapevine. This disease is associated with a phytoplasma which is transmitted mainly by the leafhopper Scaphoideus titanus. Recent outbreaks of FD in Veneto region raise new questions about the disease and the management of phytoplasma vectors. This work aimed to study the spatial and temporal dynamics of S. titanus in vineyards adjacent to wooded areas to evaluate possible interferences of semi-natural areas on the colonization of vineyards by vectors. Observations were carried out during the summer of 2022 in four vineyards located in the municipality of San Pietro di Feletto (TV). The distribution of S. titanus in vineyards was not influenced by the presence of wooded area while that of Orientus ishidae was positively influenced by woody areas in a vineyard. A number of aggregations areas of S. titanus were found at the margins of agroecosystems close to vineyards showing serious FD symptoms.
