Evaluation under field conditions of a vetch collection (Vicia spp.) composed of about 280 accessions from worldwide origin. The aims of the study were to phenotype the collection during their life cycle to see their adaptability to the Mediterranean climatic conditions, as well as describe their response against biotic stresses of agronomic importance as rust, aphids and the parasitic plant Orobanche crenata. The plant collection was planted in 3 different environment and artificially inoculated. Accessions with resistance/tolerance responses will be selected for further studies under controlled conditions in order to describe the underlying mechanisms responsible for the resistance.
