The main objective of this work is to analyse the construction history of the Monastery of Saints Nazaro and Celso in Verona in the context of the building renovation promoted by the Cassinese Congregation, which led to the creation of a new model of monastery. The first part of the thesis involves an analysis of all the building phases of the complex from its origins to the present day, paying particular attention to the events of the 15th and 16th centuries. Fundamental to this reconstruction were the archive sources kept at the State Archives of Verona, cartographic material, direct testimony and the work of architect Gualtiero Rizzi, who oversaw the most recent restoration work. Furthermore, the transformations of the monastery were analysed in the context of the Veronetta district, in order to better interpret its motives and nature. In the second part, starting from the actual state of the building, I researched all possible analogies with other monasteries of the Congregation already studied in depth.

Abstract
The main objective of this work is to analyse the construction history of the Monastery of Saints Nazaro and Celso in Verona in the context of the building renovation promoted by the Cassinese Congregation, which led to the creation of a new model of monastery. In the second part, starting from the actual state of the building, I researched all possible analogies with other monasteries of the Congregation already studied in depth.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
