Sexual dysfunctions are highly prevalent in women, and the basis of this phenomenon is often psychological factors caused by traumatic experiences and life-altering events. All the data used in this review were gathered by the means of PRISMA analysis and were evaluated meticulously in order to obtain the most relevant information. The focus was exploring sexual dysfunctions in women as well as highlighting the effect that traumas such as rape, child abuse and many more have on a woman’s sexual function, or rather, dysfunction.
