The thesis offers an overview of the use of laser instruments in veterinary medicine. The physical aspects of laser radiation, the structure that makes up the emitters and the various types of optical fibers and handpieces useful for conveying and spreading the beam are analysed. It also mentions the the use of laser instruments in medicine, especially for laser therapy and laser surgery treatments on animals, examining the interaction between radiation and biological tissue with an eye to safety regulations. In conclusion, there is a direct testimony of the internship carried out in a company that designs and manufactures laser instruments for veterinary clinics.
La tesi offre una panoramica sull'utilizzo degli strumenti laser in medicina veterinaria. Vengono analizzati gli aspetti fisici della radiazione laser, la struttura che compone gli emettitori e le varie tipologie di fibre ottiche e manipoli utili a veicolare e diffondere il fascio. Si fa riferimento all'uso degli strumenti laser in medicina in particolar modo per trattamenti di laserterapia e laserchirurgia su animali, esaminando l'interazione tra radiazione e tessuto biologico con un occhio di riguardo alle normative in fatto di sicurezza. In conclusione vi è una testimonianza diretta del tirocinio svolto presso un'azienda che progetta e produce strumentazione laser per cliniche veterinarie.
