The paper deals with the subject of translation and the problems that translators face in their daily work. The aim of the study is to understand what translating means, to analyze the solutions applied by translators to translation cases and the reasons for their choices, all this in relation with Yevgeny Zamjatin’s novel My. The first chapter will focus on the general part of the translation, trying to give a definition of it and analyzing its strategies. The second chapter will deal with the novel, will study the history of its publication in Russia and translations made in other countries, focusing particularly on Italian ones. Finally, the third chapter will compare three Italian translations of My, that of Barbara Delfino, Alessandro Niero and Alessandro Cifariello, highlighting the problems encountered by them.

L’elaborato affronta la tematica della traduzione e i problemi a cui i traduttori fanno fronte quotidianamente nel loro lavoro. Lo scopo dello studio è capire cosa vuol dire tradurre, analizzare le soluzioni che i traduttori applicano ai casi traduttivi e i motivi delle loro scelte, tutto ciò in relazione al romanzo di Evgenij Ivanovič Zamjatin, My. Il primo capitolo si concentrerà sulla parte generale della traduzione, cercando di darne una definizione e analizzandone le strategie. Il secondo capitolo tratterà del romanzo, studierà la storia della sua pubblicazione in Russia e delle traduzioni fatte negli altri paesi, concentrandosi particolarmente su quelle italiane. Infine, il terzo capitolo metterà a confronto tre traduzioni italiane di My, quella di Barbara Delfino, Alessandro Niero e Alessandro Cifariello, evidenziando i problemi da loro incontrati.

Abstract
