This paper discusses how digital death is experienced by networked society: the issues involved for people who are left with data and how to prepare for one's digital death. Is it better to be forgotten and delete our data thanks to the right to be forgotten, to be remembered with memorial pages on social networks, or to come back to life digitally with the use of chatbots? The relationship between death and digital society is one of complex understanding and includes different branches of studies such as sociology, psychology, philosophy and even law.

Abstract
This paper discusses how digital death is experienced by networked society: the issues involved for people who are left with data and how to prepare for one's digital death. Is it better to be forgotten and delete our data thanks to the right to be forgotten, to be remembered with memorial pages on social networks, or to come back to life digitally with the use of chatbots? The relationship between death and digital society is one of complex understanding and includes different branches of studies such as sociology, psychology, philosophy and even law.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
