The project covered in the paper was conducted using the participatory action-research method of photovoice. The study was conducted in Corinth in collaboration with three NGOs, Vasilika Moon, One Bridge to Idomeni and Aletheia, and is an integral part of a larger project called GLOBE (WellbeinG, incLusiOn and BElonging). This aims to identify the most important personal, social and cultural factors involved in the psychosocial well-being of refugees and asylum seekers from different countries, with the aim of fostering good social integration and increasing the quality of interethnic relations within the host community. Specifically, the photovoice course, conducted with six young adult asylum seekers, aimed to investigate the issue of resilience among forced migrants living in refugee camps, enable participants to address the macro-issue freely through the tool of photography, and identify critical issues and resources in the context. The photographs taken by the participants were primarily focused, by the participants' own wishes, on the positive aspects of their daily lives, and resilience strategies emerged from the shots, attributable to community and individual factors in 82 percent of the photographs. The latter factors in the paper received more attention, as they were also considered crucial in relation to the age group of the participants, namely young adulthood. The research shows that the young adult participants have tended to face daily adversities with resilience. In addition, it emerges how the tool of photography is useful in working with vulnerable populations to stimulate critical dialogue, empowerment, and to give greater resonance to their voices.

Abstract
In addition, it emerges how the tool of photography is useful in working with vulnerable populations to stimulate critical dialogue, empowerment, and to give greater resonance to their voices.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
