The work of this thesis is based on the development of a black Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) coating on 7075 and 6061 aluminium alloys. At the beginning, bibliographic research was conducted in order to identify suitable additives for the application and then the characterization of the samples was performed through stereo microscope and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) observations and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Lastly, to analyse the properties of the samples, tests of absorption and emission coefficients were performed through the spectrophotometer, corrosion tests were done through the potentiostat (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy, EIS) and thermal shock tests were conducted.
Il lavoro di questa tesi si basa sullo sviluppo di un rivestimento nero tramite il processo Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) su leghe di alluminio 7075 e 6061. Inizialmente è stata condotta una ricerca bibliografica per individuare gli additivi più adeguati all’applicazione desiderata e in seguito si è proceduto con la caratterizzazione dei campioni ottenuti tramite osservazioni allo stereomicroscopio e al microscopio elettronico a scansione (SEM) e diffrazione ai raggi X (XRD). Infine, per analizzare le proprietà dei campioni sono stati eseguiti: test dei coefficienti di assorbimento ed emissione tramite lo spettrofotometro, prove di corrosione tramite il potenziostato (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy, EIS) e test di shock termico.
