Hegemonic masculinity, defined as that social structuring that supports and legitimizes gender inequality, is often concretized as a difference in privilege and power. It is actually articulated in very interesting and sneaky ways in its male centralities and takes on specific forms depending on the targets considered. It is necessary to recognize the gender specificities in the sufferings of men, since the mechanisms through which these take root in the individual can offer useful looks to develop specific and considered solutions.

Abstract
Hegemonic masculinity, defined as that social structuring that supports and legitimizes gender inequality, is often concretized as a difference in privilege and power. Here are taken into account the counterproductive effects it has on health and well-being within the male gender group. While this general theme is addressed widely in the intergender landscape, it is also less considered on the homosocial side. It is actually articulated in very interesting and sneaky ways in its male centralities and takes on specific forms depending on the targets considered. In addition, through muteness and isolation as typically male traits, emotional expressiveness, professional diagnoses and searches for help are prevented, despite certain dramas, such as the suicide rate, being disproportionate to the detriment of men. It is necessary to recognize the gender specificities in the sufferings of men, since the mechanisms through which these take root in the individual can offer useful looks to develop specific and considered solutions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
