The thesis topic I worked on includes a detailed analysis of the collection of paintings by Salvador Dalí, "La vida es sueño", which is inspired by the metaphysical drama written by Pedro Calderón de la Barca. After outlining the historical context and characteristics of the Siglo de Oro, I tried to investigate more thoroughly the reasons why the painter decided to reinterpret the work according to his vision. Then I examined one by one the sixteen paintings in the collection, trying as much as possible to give meaning to all the figures and symbols that Dalí decided to insert. Finally, I also wanted to include some paintings from the seventeenth to the twentieth century that included the theme of dreams in general to show how the thought and perspective of the latter have changed over the years.

Abstract
The thesis topic I worked on includes a detailed analysis of the collection of paintings by Salvador Dalí, "La vida es sueño", which is inspired by the metaphysical drama written by Pedro Calderón de la Barca. After outlining the historical context and characteristics of the Siglo de Oro, I tried to investigate more thoroughly the reasons why the painter decided to reinterpret the work according to his vision. Then I examined one by one the sixteen paintings in the collection, trying as much as possible to give meaning to all the figures and symbols that Dalí decided to insert. Finally, I also wanted to include some paintings from the seventeenth to the twentieth century that included the theme of dreams in general to show how the thought and perspective of the latter have changed over the years.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
