In this bibliographical thesis, two disorders which are related to the abnormal use of the internet are going to be explored. They are yet to be included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th edition), but research on these conditions is growing constantly. The first of the two is digital hoarding, that is the excessive accumulation of digital data like photos or emails which can impact daily life functioning and mental health as it will be discussed in the thesis. The second disorder on which the thesis will focus is problematic internet use, that is comprehensive of all online behaviours which can lead to addiction. The aim of the thesis was that of describing the two disorders, describe the relationship between internet use disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder, analyse critically recent literature.
