Cases of food allergies are associated with a relative alteration, in terms of composition, of the gut microbiota. Therefore, many studies, both animal and human, have tried testing the approach with certain probiotics, which, fortunately, have proven useful in these cases. Also accompanying this is an analysis of multiple plant extracts that can contribute to the improvement of disorders generated by allergic reactions. The thesis begins with a general first part on all that is the gut microbiota, to follow with an overview of the immune system and allergic reactions concerning foods, and finally emphasizes the use of plant extracts and probiotics in the treatment of these.
Si associano i casi di allergie alimentari ad una relativa alterazione, in termini di composizione, del microbiota intestinale. Per questo molti studi, sia su animale che su uomo, hanno provato a testare l'approccio con determinati probiotici che, fortunatamente, si sono rivelati utili in questi casi. Inoltre in accompagnamento a ciò si analizzano molteplici estratti vegetali che possono concorrere a un miglioramento dei disturbi generati dalle reazioni allergiche. La tesi inizia con una prima parte generale su tutto quello che è il microbiota intestinale, per susseguirsi con una panoramica del sistema immunitario e delle allergie alimentari e infine mette in risalto l'utilizzo di estratti vegetali e probiotici nella cura di queste.
