Industrial robotics is one of the technologies that, nowadays, is experiencing a remarkable and continuous progress, finding more and more applications in different industries. While this progress leads to productivity gains, it can also have an impact on employment and the labour share. Through a panel cointegration analysis on the sectoral data of nine developed countries in the period 1996-2016, this dissertation analyses the relationship between the implementation of industrial robots and the labour share.
