This thesis project presents how to implement a remediation plan to treat a chlorinated solvents-contaminated aquifer through injections of an electron donor solution to enhance the mechanism of Reductive Dechlorination (RD), a natural process employed by several microrganisms to transform chlorinated hydrocarbons into harmless compounds as Ethane or Ethene. Moreover, the project aims to identify the key parameters involved in the design and how a variation of these parameters impacts on the remediation plan in terms of efficiency.

Abstract
This thesis project presents how to implement a remediation plan to treat a chlorinated solvents-contaminated aquifer through injections of an electron donor solution to enhance the mechanism of Reductive Dechlorination (RD), a natural process employed by several microrganisms to transform chlorinated hydrocarbons into harmless compounds as Ethane or Ethene. Moreover, the project aims to identify the key parameters involved in the design and how a variation of these parameters impacts on the remediation plan in terms of efficiency.File in questo prodotto:
