Abstract
An analysis upon turbine based combined cycle (TBCC) engines focused on the first production implementation of the technology in an aircraft: the propulsion system of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. After a brief historical contextualization of the SR-71 project, the features and the main engineering solutions of the propulsion system will be analysed. Lastly, a short view to the modern state of the art of the technology will be provided with particular attention upon the future of supersonic and hypersonic air travel.File in questo prodotto:
