The Atesina Porphyric Platform has a significant importance in order to understand the Permian period: it covers about 2000 km² in the heart of Trentino, considering the extension in the Southern Alps, it occupies the area between the Periadriatic Lineament to NW and the Valsugana Line to the South. Starting from a general analysis related to the Hercynian orogeny, the composition was defined first of all in a mineralogical side, from which it was possible to connect the main processes that led to the climatic-environmental modification. The main evolutionary events are characterized by massive lava flows and by the high level of seismic activity, given the strong control of tectonics. Atmospheric agents subsequently produced intense alterations on the volcanic landscape, causing the formation of sediments. The stratigraphic intercalations allow us to identify and classify the different floristic fossils, through which it has been possible to compare the flora of the Permian period with the current flora. Based on the collected data from the various documents, hypotheses regarding the presence of certain species will be made, also making reference to the outcrops found in various sites and their geomorphology. The strike-slip tectonics has brought up to the present day several fossil record, both in terms of floristic and faunistic. Particular importance was given to the palaeontological site of Tregiovo in Val di Non, which allowed the expansion of the vegetation framework of the Permian age, with the aim of identifying and representing the climatic and floristic environment of the area concerned.

Abstract
Particular importance was given to the palaeontological site of Tregiovo in Val di Non, which allowed the expansion of the vegetation framework of the Permian age, with the aim of identifying and representing the climatic and floristic environment of the area concerned.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
