La Croce Rossa nella Prima Guerra Mondiale e nella pandemia di spagnola. La storia, l'azione e il contributo femminile della Croce Rossa Italiana.

The thesis aims to offer an analysis of the action of the Italian Red Cross during the Great War and the Spanish pandemic. First of all, we will analyze how relief efforts on battlefields have evolved, from the ancient Romans to the present day, to continue with the history of the Red Cross, starting from Henry Dunant and continuing until 1920. Particular attention will also be dedicated to the analysis of political and social dynamics that have led the Red Cross to become the most important humanitarian organization. The final chapter will instead be dedicated to the contribution of women within the association, especially to the Corps of Volunteer Nurses.

La tesi ha lo scopo di offrire un'analisi dell'azione della Croce Rossa Italiana durante la Grande Guerra e la pandemia di spagnola. In primis si analizzerà come sono evoluti i soccorsi sui campi di battaglia, dagli antichi romani fino ai giorni nostri, per proseguire con la storia della Croce Rossa, partendo da Henry Dunant per proseguire fino al 1920. Particolare attenzione sarà anche dedicata all'analisi delle dinamiche politiche e sociali che hanno portato la Croce Rossa a diventare la più importante organizzazione umanitaria. Il capitolo finale sarà invece dedicato al contributo femminile all'interno dell'associazione, in particolar modo al Corpo delle Infermiere Volontarie.
