La stereotipizzazione dei personaggi femminile nel caso della Walt Disney

Stereotyping is a phenomenon which, unfortunately, despite the fact that progress has been made in history, remains an obstacle still to be overcome due to its strong radicalization within the surrounding reality. Those who are more subject to prejudice leave women as they have always been thoughtful as the weaker gender than men. After specifying the essential points concerning the whole world that revolves around the question of prejudices, we proceed with the analysis of how much language, in particular that of the mass media, can be influential in the creation of gender stereotypes. Boys and girls are expected to fulfill distinct roles within society and unfortunately this is taught from an early age. Children aged 2/3 already internalize the first information through the use of toys and watching cartoons: educational tools that present opportunities for the growth and training of children but at the same time highlight the risks they may involve towards the little ones. That's why we delve into the case of Walt Disney and its female characters. The princesses represent the women of the era in which the feature film was released. Focusing on some precise aspects that I wanted to observe with a more careful eye, we can see how many gender stereotypes they provide through simple images and elementary dialogues. It is therefore the parents' task to educate their children not to be caged in pre-established opinions but to fulfill themselves on the basis of their own wishes and personalities.

La stereotipizzazione è un fenomeno che, purtroppo, nonostante siano stati compiuti dei passi in avanti nella storia, rimane un ostacolo ancora da superare a causa della sua forte radicalizzazione all'interno della realtà circostante. Coloro che sono più soggette a pregiudizi lasciano le donne poichè sono premurose da sempre come il genere più debole rispetto a quello maschile. Dopo aver specificato i punti essenziali che riguardano tutto il mondo che gira attorno alla questione dei pregiudizi, procediamo con l'analisi di quanto il linguaggio, in particolare quello dei mezzi di comunicazione di massa possa essere influente nella creazione degli stereotipi di genere. Ci si aspetta che i maschi e le femmine rispettino dei ruoli distinti all'interno della società e sfortunatamente questo viene insegnato sin dalla più tenera età. Bambini di 2/3 anni interiorizzano già le prime informazioni attraverso l'uso dei giocattoli e la visione dei cartoni animati: strumenti educativi che presentano delle opportunità per la crescita e la formazione dei bambini ma allo stesso tempo mettono in luce dei rischi che possono comportare nei confronti dei più piccoli. Ecco perchè approfondiamo il caso della Walt Disney e dei relativi personaggi femminili. Le principesse rappresentano le donne dell'epoca in cui il lungometraggio è stato pubblicato. Soffermandoci su alcuni aspetti precisi che ho voluto osservare con occhio più attento, possiamo notare quanti stereotipi di genere forniscono attraverso delle immagini semplici e dei dialoghi elementari. E' compito quindi dei genitori educare i propri figli a non essere ingabbiati in opinioni precostituite ma a realizzarsi in base ai propri voleri e personalità.
