In the middle of the 20th century, Latin American literature had a period of transformation that became known as the Boom. During that phase, writers from across the continent created works that challenged traditional literary conventions by embracing narrative and innovative techniques, often exploring themes of social and political upheaval, as well as the region’s complex identities. Two of the most famous and influential novels are One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez and La casa de los espíritus by Isabel Allende. While these works have often been compared and analyzed for their contributions to the literary movement of magical realism, their similarities and differences extend beyond gender, exploring important cultural and historical themes that continue to resonate today. In this thesis, I will try to offer a comparative analysis of these two books, focusing on their themes, narrative structures and contributions to the tradition of Latin American literature.

Abstract
In this thesis, I will try to offer a comparative analysis of these two books, focusing on their themes, narrative structures and contributions to the tradition of Latin American literature.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
