How does the vulnerability of the educator affect his work? How in practice do educators view vulnerability as an educational potential? These are the two great questions that have guided the present thesis work. To answer these questions, first, an analysis and an in-depth study of the Italian scientific literature of the sector were made and then, an exploratory research on the field and the analysis of the results obtained. The paper deals with the professional figure of the educator and his vulnerability as a person and as a professional. It highlights aspects such as personal and professional vulnerability, the complexity of the educational relationship, emotionality and intelligences, educational care, training, experience and relationship with work colleagues. It addresses issues related to the shadow zone of this profession such as the phenomenon of burnout, the concept of limit, trauma and resilience, motivation. The final chapter presents a reflection on the data obtained from an exploratory interview, submitted to four educators of the Cooperative 'L'Eco Papa Giovanni XXIII', which has different educational realities in the Italian territory. You will discover the typical characteristics of the professional figure of the educator, the critical aspects of this profession and the tools he can use to take care of himself.
In che modo la vulnerabilità dell’educatore influisce sul suo lavoro? In che modo nella pratica gli educatori considerano la vulnerabilità come una potenzialità educativa? Questi sono i due grandi interrogativi che hanno guidato il presente lavoro di tesi. Per rispondere a queste domande, prima, sono stati fatti un’analisi ed uno studio approfondito della letteratura scientifica italiana di settore e in seguito, una ricerca esplorativa sul campo e l’analisi dei risultati ottenuti. L'elaborato tratta della figura professionale dell’educatore e della sua vulnerabilità in quanto persona e in quanto professionista. Mette in luce aspetti come la vulnerabilità personale e professionale, la complessità della relazione educativa, l’emotività e le intelligenze, la cura educativa, la formazione, l’esperienza e il rapporto con i colleghi di lavoro. Affronta temi legati alla zona d’ombra di questa professione quali il fenomeno del burnout, il concetto di limite, il trauma e la resilienza, la motivazione. Il capitolo finale presenta una riflessione sui dati ricavati da un’intervista esplorativa, sottoposta a quattro educatrici della Cooperativa ‘’L’Eco Papa Giovanni XXIII’’, che possiede diverse realtà educative nel territorio italiano. Si scopriranno le caratteristiche tipiche della figura professionale dell’educatore, gli aspetti critici di questa professione e gli strumenti di cui si può avvalere per prendersi cura di sé.
