The thesis deals with some case studies related to the long path of women’s emancipation in Italy. After an overview of the cultural, political and legal aspects that accompanied the feminist claims in our country, this study focuses on some emblematic cases, such as the trial of Gigliola Pierobon (a decisive event in the process of legalizing abortion), and the events of Franca Viola (who had the courage to reject the shotgun wedding and denounce her rapist). The cases examined are intended to highlight the dynamics between feminist claims and the redefinition of the family and sexuality. Focusing on the transformation of Italy which has always been subject to strong Catholic and conservative pressure and in which the crisis of the family and patriarchy was felt with greater complexity.
