Palliative care is a discipline in great development, thanks to a great deal of research showing its positive effects. The beneficiaries are patients, but also family members, who play a key role in the care of the patient. They are also those who suffer the consequences of mourning. Dealing with loss is not easy: one way to deal with pain is to be aware that the relationship and bond with the deceased is not over, but continues even if the person is no longer with us physically. The proposed research aims to understand what, in the experience of caring for the sick, made the family member understand that death does not mean annihilation, but represents a passage towards another reality.

Abstract
Palliative care is a discipline in great development, thanks to a great deal of research showing its positive effects. The beneficiaries are patients, but also family members, who play a key role in the care of the patient. They are also those who suffer the consequences of mourning. Dealing with loss is not easy: one way to deal with pain is to be aware that the relationship and bond with the deceased is not over, but continues even if the person is no longer with us physically. The proposed research aims to understand what, in the experience of caring for the sick, made the family member understand that death does not mean annihilation, but represents a passage towards another reality.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
