Work-life balance is defined as ‘‘the level of involvement between the multiple roles in a person’s life, particularly as they pertain to employment and family or leisure activities’’ (APA). Nowadays, a proper work-life balance is considered one of the fundamental factors in preventing the risk of work-related mental issues, such as stress and burnout. This systematic literature review explores the association between work-life balance and the professions with a higher risk of developing work-related psychological disorders. The first aim of this thesis is to identify from the literature which jobs are associated with the increased risk of developing work-related psychological disorders. Next, relevant literature is reviewed to investigate whether people in these professions are more likely to have work-life balance issues and to explore why this might be the case.

The first aim of this thesis is to identify from the literature which jobs are associated with the increased risk of developing work-related psychological disorders. Next, relevant literature is reviewed to investigate whether people in these professions are more likely to have work-life balance issues and to explore why this might be the case.
