Work-life balance is defined as ‘‘the level of involvement between the multiple roles in a person’s life, particularly as they pertain to employment and family or leisure activities’’ (APA). Nowadays, a proper work-life balance is considered one of the fundamental factors in preventing the risk of work-related mental issues, such as stress and burnout. This systematic literature review explores the association between work-life balance and the professions with a higher risk of developing work-related psychological disorders. The first aim of this thesis is to identify from the literature which jobs are associated with the increased risk of developing work-related psychological disorders. Next, relevant literature is reviewed to investigate whether people in these professions are more likely to have work-life balance issues and to explore why this might be the case.

Abstract
Work-life balance is defined as ‘‘the level of involvement between the multiple roles in a person’s life, particularly as they pertain to employment and family or leisure activities’’ (APA). Nowadays, a proper work-life balance is considered one of the fundamental factors in preventing the risk of work-related mental issues, such as stress and burnout. This systematic literature review explores the association between work-life balance and the professions with a higher risk of developing work-related psychological disorders. The first aim of this thesis is to identify from the literature which jobs are associated with the increased risk of developing work-related psychological disorders. Next, relevant literature is reviewed to investigate whether people in these professions are more likely to have work-life balance issues and to explore why this might be the case.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
