Proof of Technology: Analisi dei processi di business con l'utilizzo di ELK

Given a business process that involves several documents stored in an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system and various workflows implemented on a Business Process Management (BPM) platform, the goal is to provide the Business with a series of information, at different levels of aggregation, derived from these platforms in order to show the progress of the entire business process with real-time data and necessary information to proactively intervene in the process itself. In particular, the ECM and BPM platforms in question are those of the "IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation" suite (CP4BA), called IBM FileNet P8 (ECM) and IBM Business Automation Workflow (BPM). The tools for data collection, transformation, indexing, and presentation are within CP4BA and largely rely on the ELK platform, which stands for Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana. The internship project entails a preliminary study of a process in order to identify the relevant events (KPI - Key Performance Indicators), transform them for clustering using ELK, and represent them through dashboards developed with Kibana.

Dato un processo aziendale che coinvolge diversi documenti che vengono archiviati in un sistema ECM (Enterprise Content Management) e diversi workflow implementati su una piattaforma di BPM (Business Process Management), si vuole mettere a disposizione del Business una serie di informazioni, a diversi livelli di aggregazione, che derivano da queste piattaforme con il fine di mostrare l’andamento dell’intero processo aziendale con dati in real-time e informazioni necessarie per intervenire proattivamente sul processo stesso. In particolare, la piattaforme ECM e BPM di origine sono quelle della suite “IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation” (CP4BA) chiamate IBM FileNet P8 (ECM) e IBM Business Automation Workflow (BPM). Gli strumenti per la raccolta, trasformazione, indicizzazione e presentazione dei dati sono all’interno del CP4BA e si appoggiano per buona parte alla piattaforma ELK, ovvero il Elasticsearch, Logstash e Kibana. Il progetto di STAGE prevede uno studio preliminare di un processo al fine di individuare gli eventi rilevanti (KPI - Key Performance Indicator), trasformarli per la clusterizzazione mediante ELK e rappresentarli tramite dashboard sviluppate con Kibana.
