In this thesis we will analyze the construction process and relative control of an artificial pancreas, for the regulation of glucose-insulin systems. He will start by exposing basic concepts of physiology of the endocrine system, going from the function that insulin and glucose cover and their relationship, up to discussing the pathology of diabetes. We will then move on to the analysis of a mathematical model that can describe the time trend of insulin and glucose in humans through differential equations, in order to obtain a reference system. An example of simulation conducted to demonstrate how a PID controller is able to regulate the functioning of an artificial pancreas will be proposed and an improvement will be proposed through an estimate of the active insulin within the body. This new controller will be compared with the previous one through an in silico simulation and its performance, reliability and robustness will be verified.

Abstract
This new controller will be compared with the previous one through an in silico simulation and its performance, reliability and robustness will be verified.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
