According to current European legislation (PED regulation), equipment operating at a pressure of more than 0.5 bar must be fitted with special safety systems. These systems serve to protect equipment from any abnormal pressures that could jeopardise the mechanical seal of the equipment itself and thus generate a possible hazard for operators and the environment. The report shows the verification of the sizing of the safety devices of the new synthesis department 3 for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) of the chemical-pharmaceutical plant of Newchem s.p.a located in Verona. In particular, the sizing of the rupture discs and safety valves, which are the devices that protect the pressure equipment of each functional module (reactor, condenser, post-condenser, collection barrel) of synthesis department 3, is reported. The verification of the plant's blow-down dimensioning in the event of a worst-case accident in synthesis Department 3 is then proposed. The ALOHA simulation of a possible release of methylene chloride (the most commonly used solvent in the plant) not abated by the condenser and washing column at the end of the blow-down line is then reported. In conclusion, normative information is provided on the INAIL technical reports of the various functional modules.
Secondo la normativa vigente in Europa (normativa PED), le apparecchiature operanti ad una pressione superiore a 0.5 bar devono essere dotate di appositi sistemi di sicurezza. Questi sistemi, servono a proteggere le apparecchiature da eventuali pressioni anomale che potrebbero mettere a rischio la tenuta meccanica delle stesse apparecchiature e quindi generare un possibile pericolo per gli operatori e per l'ambiente. Nella relazione viene riportata la verifica del dimensionamento dei dispositivi di sicurezza del nuovo reparto sintesi 3 per la produzione di principi attivi farmaceutici (API) dello stabilimento chimico-farmaceutico di Newchem s.p.a situato a Verona. In particolare è riportato il dimensionamento dei dischi di rottura e delle valvole di sicurezza che sono i dispositivi che proteggono le apparecchiature in pressione di ogni modulo funzionale ( reattore, condensatore, post-condensatore, barilotto di raccolta) del reparto sintesi 3. Viene successivamente proposto la verifica del dimensionamento del blow-down dello stabilimento nel caso si verifichi il peggior evento incidentale nel reparto sintesi 3. Successivamente è riportata la simulazione ALOHA di eventuale rilascio di cloruro di metilene ( solvente più utilizzato nell'impianto) non abbattuto da condensatore e colonna di lavaggio a fine della linea di blow-down. In conclusione vengono fornite delle informazioni normative relative alle relazioni tecniche INAIL redatte dei vari moduli funzionali.
