The aviation sector represents a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions, and with the increasing and ongoing demand for air travel, it has become imperative to address the environmental challenges associated with it. This paper examines the impact of aviation on climate change, with a specific focus on greenhouse gas emissions and strategies for achieving sustainable transition. After outlining a historical perspective of aviation, the pollutants and climate-altering gases emitted during flights, such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides, are analyzed. The analysis centers on the quantity of CO₂ emissions generated by aviation and its implications for the changing climate. Current emissions and future projections are considered, taking into account new technologies and reduction policies. Finally, strategies for a sustainable transition are explored, with particular reference to the adoption of biofuels, hydrogen, and electric aircraft. Research has underscored the need for greater commitment to ensure a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, despite current innovations and policies in place.

Abstract
Research has underscored the need for greater commitment to ensure a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, despite current innovations and policies in place.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
