The class of polyphenols, especially tannic acid, has been receiving much attention in the scientific field in recent years. Its polyfunctionality of hydroxyl groups linked to its antioxidant properties makes it an extremely versatile compound, many researches are being carried out on this extremely biocompatible and easily available molecule. All the various covalent and non-covalent interactions that tannic acid is able to form are specifically studied. There are many applications in which tannic acid is used, in particular it is used as a crosslinker in various technologies, as a bioadhesive for wounds, or in the form of particles to prevent bleeding, as a bone reconstituent, or as a carrier for chemotherapy drugs.
La classe dei polifenoli, in particolar modo l’acido tannico negli ultimi anni sta ricevendo molte attenzioni in ambito scientifico. La sua polifunzionalità di gruppi ossidrilici legata alle sue proprietà antiossidanti lo rendono un composto estremamente versatile, molte sono le ricerche che si stanno svolgendo su questa molecola estremamente biocompatibile e facilmente reperibile. Vengono studiati nello specifico tutte le varie interazoni covalenti e non che l’acido tannico è in grado di formare. Molte sono le applicazioni nella quale viene utilizzato l’acido tannico, in particolare viene utilizzato come reticolante in varie tecnologie, come bioadesivo per le ferite, o sottoforma di particelle per evitare emoraggie, come ricostituente di ossa, o come carrier per farmaci chemioterapici.
