Banche Centrali e Finanza Verde

The paper analyses the current objectives of a selection of central banks, asking how well they integrate green finance in their operations and if their objectives could be defined sustainable. It then discussess possible green policies that central banks could have at their disposal and how they could be integrated within their institutional objectives. This paper is based on information drawn primarly from publications concerning the topic, such as scholarly articles and books. The analysis showed that, esablished that the introduction of green financial instruments is auspicable, there is stil work to be done to introduce such instruments and implement explicit sustainability goals among central banks.

L’elaborato analizza gli attuali obiettivi di una selezione di banche centrali, chiedendosi quanto esse integrino la finanza verde nelle loro attività e quanto i loro obiettivi possano essere definiti sostenibili. Alla luce di ciò, si discutono in seguito le possibili politiche verdi che le banche centrali avrebbero a disposizione e come esse potrebbero essere integrate all’interno dei loro obiettivi istituzionali. L’elaborato si basa su informazioni tratte principalmente da pubblicazioni riguardanti il tema, come articoli scientifici e libri. L’analisi ha mostrato come, appurato che introdurre strumenti finanziari verdi sia necessario per combattere il cambiamento climatico, ci sia ancora da lavorare per introdurre suddetti strumenti e implementare obiettivi espliciti di sostenibilità tra le banche centrali.
