Voting represents the tool through which the electorate can manifest both the right and the duty to express a political preference and influence the economic performance of their country. The objective of the following dissertation is to delve into and reflect on the relationship between political turnover and economic welfare, specifically in the Italian electoral context. Therefore, an analysis of the literature related to this context has been conducted, starting from the 1990s. Based on the main results recorded regarding government stability, bureaucratic efficiency, inter-party competition and corruption, it aims to verify the correspondence of the Italian phenomenon with the positive correlation between the election of new leaders and the increase in economic performance observed on a broader international scale (Marx, Pons & Rollet, 2022). Starting from this last conclusion and the observed indicators regarding the case of Italy, finally, an attempt will be made to outline, even in the light of future research prospects, whether and how to use the power of choice, inherent in the vote, in a conscious and economically efficient manner.

Abstract
Starting from this last conclusion and the observed indicators regarding the case of Italy, finally, an attempt will be made to outline, even in the light of future research prospects, whether and how to use the power of choice, inherent in the vote, in a conscious and economically efficient manner.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
