The study of the effects of immigration on the female labor market is a topical issue. The increase in migration that has occurred in the last decade is one of the most important factors for contemporary economic systems. The term "working woman" refers to the role of women in paid work and employment. In recent years, women have made great progress in the world of work by combating gender discrimination and hoping to be treated equally. The idea that women can do any kind of work, regardless of position or sector, and that they are entitled to fair pay and proper working conditions is part of the concept of working women. In addition, this concept includes recognition of the many functions that women perform in society, as professionals, mothers, wives and active citizens; this has also been made possible by the arrival of workers who have migrated from developing countries in search of a better life. In fact, their contribution in the area of domestic collaboration is particularly relevant, not only in terms of home care, but also in child care. The objective of the paper is to analyze in detail the economic effects of migrant workers, showing how they are more a useful resource than a burden and how they contribute to the economic and social development of both the destination country and the country of origin. In particular, their contribution to the female labor market is examined, enabling women to aspire to professional growth, career and success in their jobs, thus having equal opportunities to men. From this perspective, the immigrant worker can cooperate with the employer and improve the life of the owner, contributing to the progress and optimization of the economy. This study seeks to provide in the first chapter an introductory approach to the concept of the labor market in general, thereafter the analysis focuses on the obstacles women face when attempting to enter the labor market, placing special emphasis on wage disparities and the main reasons for hiccups they face prior to employment status. The second chapter, the main focus of the entire paper, will analyze the ways and effects that immigration has on the labor market for women; in particular, it will focus on the complementarity between native and immigrant workers with an in-depth look at domestic help, and then look at how wages in the destination country change. Finally, we will go on to identify which sectors have the highest rates of employment by foreigners and the reasons for this breakdown, this detailed analysis will be accompanied and explained by a series of collected data.

Abstract
Finally, we will go on to identify which sectors have the highest rates of employment by foreigners and the reasons for this breakdown, this detailed analysis will be accompanied and explained by a series of collected data.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
