Strategic philanthropy is a new approach to traditional philanthropy that has changed the way Italian foundations address social challenges. Indeed, it has enabled them to identify themselves no longer as mere grantmakers but as strategic actors, moving from the traditional charitable model to an effectiveness-oriented approach. Strategic philanthropy involves a long-term vision and prudent management of resources, achieved through a focused planning and the setting of clear and measurable objectives. This paper will analyze and compare the work of three major Italian foundations, which differ in type, sector of intervention and date of establishment, with the aim of identifying how philanthropy and the actions of these foundations have evolved over the years.

Abstract
Strategic philanthropy is a new approach to traditional philanthropy that has changed the way Italian foundations address social challenges. Indeed, it has enabled them to identify themselves no longer as mere grantmakers but as strategic actors, moving from the traditional charitable model to an effectiveness-oriented approach. Strategic philanthropy involves a long-term vision and prudent management of resources, achieved through a focused planning and the setting of clear and measurable objectives. This paper will analyze and compare the work of three major Italian foundations, which differ in type, sector of intervention and date of establishment, with the aim of identifying how philanthropy and the actions of these foundations have evolved over the years.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
