Questa tesi esplora temi storici e sociali contemporanei, concentrandosi sulla produzione scritta della comunità afroamericana. Esamina l'impatto del razzismo sistematico e dell'oppressione, in particolare all'interno del sistema giudiziario degli Stati Uniti. Analizzando la letteratura afroamericana e l'hip hop, vengono analizzati i periodi storici della schiavitù, delle leggi razziali, e del movimento per i diritti civili, evidenziandone l'influenza sulle espressioni artistiche.
